Default Buying Homemade Items

I found a great place to buy handmade, crafty-type items online: etsy.com! I spent a few hours browsing through the site yesterday, and I'm hooked! The styles range from trendy to classic to retro and everything in between. The prices also vary from cheap to expensive. It reminds me of eBay with a heavy crafy slant. I love it!

So people make stuff and then sell or auction it off on this site???? Hmmmm...might be a market for the hard candy wreaths I make around Christmas....

Yes, they sell their items at any price they choose! It's more like selling than auctioning. You basically set up a "shop" where you display your items, and I think etsy handles all the shopping cart type features. I'm not sure as I'm not a seller, but it seems simple enough. I'm just quickly becoming an avid buyer over there, hehe.

What a great idea. I have bought some handmade clothes on E-bay, but I'll have to check this site out.

I've never heard of this site before! I will definitely have to take a good look. Plus, I will let a friend of mine know who makes her own glass beads. They are *gorgeous* and she might do really well with a shop on this site.
Thanks for telling us about it!

No problem! I've actually gotten quite addicted to it, for the time being. I just like looking around and seeing what people can make with their own hands.

I've been to etsy before. Isn't it wonderful. Some of the items are breathtaking! I haven't bought anything there yet, how are they about shipping charges?

Yeah, EBay doesn't seem to be the best market for handmade things, unless you really have a niche, in my opinion.
