Thank you for the links. There was one on the list that I do need to get. Of course my boys seem to think they should get all the new toys. Every commercial is "I want that". I have heard that so many times I could scream.

Well Ten year anniversary Elmo is suppoesd to be the big one.
We always get our daughter an American Girl doll - not only are they beautiful - but they go up in value year after year. They run about $85 for the basic meet and greet dressed doll from Americangirl.com I highly recommend them for girls ages 5-10. |

I have two boys but do not buy them expensive toys. In fact, I tell everyone else to only buy them very specific things. This year it is legos and hardware (my eldest wants to build a robot from scratch). Books are always welcome. I just can't see spending tons of money on some toy that will either break or the child will get bored with them soon.

That is a very good idea to keep to a couple basic products. My sons love the power ranger action figures. Maybe I will have the relatives pick out one each and that would even save them money because they tend to go overboard.
