Default Creating "Space"

How do you create space for yourself in a living environment where you live with one or more people in (relatively) close quarters? Do you tend to focus on hobbies when you need to "get away"? That's what I try to do.

I tend to delve into surfing on the internet, IMing friends, or going into forums. They may be in the same room, but I'm in my own virtual world, so they don't bother me so much.

I do the same thing I get on the computer and zone out. But I generally do it after they go to bed. So about the only other thing I can do is I will send them in the backyard to play and then I go out front and read my book.

Mine complain about the heat, so they refuse to play outside at my house. Now the temperature is the same at Nana's, but they'll go out and play there. Go figure!

Yes, I've noticed that... wonder why everything is always better at grandma's house even if it's exactly the same?

My home office is my space. I don't mind sharing it, but it's also my quiet room when I need it.

Unfortunately, no real time for recreation in it as I always seem to be working!!

Lose yourself in a book, i find that the best way to escape. Or if the house is abit noisy for that and i need to relax and lie on my bed with a pair of head phones on and just drift away with my music. Sometimes if i really feel i need to get out i go for a bike ride, i always feel great when i get back and then they all don't seem to bother me that much!
