Well I have already asked about this in other places but am yet to get a definite answer to this. I am suffering from a skin problem. Its a black patch which has developed just below my knee in the right leg and is very itchy. I try my best not to itch it but the urge becomes irresistible at time and I am compelled to do the same. This makes the area even more widespread. Have consulted local doctors for this but their medications have not been able to rectify the problem. Can anyone help me identify and suggest a better treatment for the problem? Maybe in addition to the secrets of glowing skin I may also come to know the ways to heal this long drawn problem.

I don't know what to suggest to the reply regarding the dark patch but as regards the person with rough skin, I woulld gentley exfoliate and then moisturise with a fragrance free cream, like an E45 type cream.

Reiko - I'd say make a paste from some ground almonds and add a little bit of oatmeal - it'll make a naturally exfoliating scrub that will gently help to remove some of the rough skin. Do you work in an air-con office or somewhere that's got heating on all day?
It sounds like a little bit of eczema danial12, especially where it is. There's lots of causes for eczema including too much dairy, nervous tension and anxiety, dehydration and contact with synthetic chemicals. If you're using biological washing powders, try switching as the enzymes can sometimes cause skin irritation. |

E45 is very good but also as well as treating the area in that way there are other things you can do. See if there is a softer washing detergent you can use, make sure that the trousers ect that you may be wearing are a soft fabric, just wash the area with warm water and no shower gels. I find that drinking plenty of water helps all kind of skin problems.
