My mother used to eat cottage cheese and cucumber sandwiches fairly frequently (my furry manager [aka :kitty:], Shadow Kibblesbane used to take a bite of them, too, when they resided together.)
Anyway, concerning spearmint in spinach dishes: I believe it's a rather common combination in Athens, Greece (but don't quote me on this.) I rarely make spinach without spearmint now. ![]() A couple more "weird" combinations: adding herbs/edible flowers to cake batter (by lining the pan with the herbs/flowers) or adding chocolate chips to banana bread/banana cake. couldn't make myself eat flowers, though. I've heard of it and I knowit's done, but I'm not sure I could handle it. That said, there are other things from nature that people eat that would be MUCH worse (uh... BUGS.... ICK!)
