My husband and I have been married for 6 years. We had our first child 4 years ago. While we are still a very strong couple, we are still trying to figure out having our relationship separate from being "Mommy" and "Daddy". It was quite apparent when we last went to dinner and our main topic of conversation was our son. We NEED to get more alone time and rediscover each other.
How was it for you? How did you make sure your marriage stayed strong and true in the midst of raising kids? |

I don't have children, I don't really want them and neither does my husband, thankfully.
I have a friend who got married last year and they have their first kid on the way. They're scared of what you describe, but they have a large network of friends and I think most people would be willing to babysit every now and then to give them a chance to have some 'together' time. Maybe you could do the same? Even one night a week would probably save your sanity
