Default Sleep

Adequate sleep is necessary for proper brain functions. Any amount of sleep deprivation can diminish mental performance.

Ha ! I suffer from insomnia and my job requires a lot of concentration.

What makes you think that ? Any experience in sleep deprivation ? Maybe you made a statement based on other beliefs ?

I personally find that I'm much slower when I don't have enough sleep. How can I tell? I tried playing an online flash game I'm usually great at, and did horribly, lol.

I really believe all people do not require the same amount of sleep. I find I do not require a full eight hours of sleep. I function a lot better with less sleep.

That is true. While there is a general range that appears to be the average, some people operate just fine on, say, four hours of sleep while others may need eight. Personally, I find that I need more sleep as I get older, if I am to function at optimum efficiency.

I still need to find the proper hours of sleep; currently, if I sleep not enough, I feel sleepy, yet if I sleep more than enough, I feel drowsy :S

I know I have a lot less patience when I don't get a good amount of sleep, but I'm sure it's different for eveyone.

I changed my programme at work at my request. I had to work from 9 a.m.-17 pm as per the manager internal group requirement and passed to 8 a,m.- 16 p.m. (as per general rule, the programme is from 8-9 a.m. to 16-17 p.m.). This means for me, I have to wake up every day at 5.30 a.m. the advantage is I arrive at home an hour earlier.

The only problem is I still cannot go to sleep earlier in order to be up at 5 o'clock. I realised today I got back on 3 huge coffee cups per day. *sigh"

I envy all those who can make it with 4-5 hours per night. *sigh again*

My kids are my alarm clock, and for one reason or another my son likes to wake up around five in the morning.

I find that even if I do not set the alarm clock, I will wake up no later than 7:00 a.m. no matter that time I went to bed. I have no idea where this came from, as I am most assuredly not a morning person.
