I avoid people like that completely. They do not respect my own beliefs, why should I respect theres?
I cant avoid both my father and mother! LOL. It does come down to not respecting someone elses beliefs in my eyes. My husband is very confrontational (he is a brit, his manner is different) so i need to watch him and deal with it as tactfully as possible.

My mother-in-law can be very out-spoken and insulting to me at times but I feel that out of respect and love for my spouse I can turn the other way and ignore it. Also I am fortunate that she lives on the other side of the world nine months out of the year! LOL!

I was really lucky. My In laws were great. We always got along. We were really close, and they came around all the time. Now that they are no longer with us I find I really miss them.

I am married and live with inlaws. I never faced any problem with them. I think, if you can live with your own parents, why not with them? Everyone is different from others. We have to adjust with all. It may be your neighbour, or sometimes with our own parents! Is not it? So, where is the problem to adjust with inlaws?

I am newly married and I must say my in-laws are "ok." I haven't been married long but I do have a feeling we won't always get along super well. They are nice enough but I think they will try to get their say in too much.
