For more info, read A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving. One of the character is asexual and explain perfectly well why he was led to this choice.

Meh.. you know, I understand why they want validation.
Because so many people look at you like you're a freak if you don't have sex or aren't interested in it. I mean, look at the drugs for 'lost libido'.
If it bothers you that you don't have a libido, by all means take something. Do something to increase the sex in your life.
But people who are perfectly well and happy not having sex , don't crave it or want it are somehow looked upon as freaks or 'broken'.

It's that way with a lot of things though.
