Sex Pistol angers NZ butter makers

John Lyndon, recognised easily as Johnny Rotten of the former Sex Pistol, is used to facing the wrath of the establishment and he may be known for many things, but lately he is best known for his advertisements throughout Britain promoting the purchase of butter from local farms instead of New Zealand.

In response, the Federated Farmers association of New Zealand has invited Lyndon to come down to New Zealand to taste the difference between British butter and free range New Zealand butter, which they believe is not only more environmentally friendly but also tastes better.

According to the president of Federated Farmers, Don Nicholson, the campaign against New Zealand butter is another underhanded tactic employed by the protectionist British that New Zealand has fought against for years.

According to Nicholson, there is a great difference between European cows and New Zealand cows and he says that the free range kiwi cows produce a much higher quality of butter and milk, while leaving a lower carbon footprint on the earth.

He also went on to say that only handcrafted butter from Britain can compete with the taste of New Zealand’s free range produced butter and dairy products, which incidentally makes for happier cows as well.

Nicholson believes that once Lyndon tastes the difference between the two types of butter he will likely change his position as an opponent of New Zealand dairy farmers.
