Green travel is cheaper

Businesses looking to green up their travel will save money, the WWF has claimed.
There is ‘almost a direct correlation’ between reducing emissions from transport and saving money on transport costs, said Jean Leston, WWF transport policy officer.
“A lot of different companies tell us we have a policy of trying to reduce our CO2 and travel by 20 per cent and we have achieved cuts in our travel budget by 30 per cent,” Leston said.
Leston believes that this is a brilliant example of how businesses can save money through becoming environmentally conscious.
“I say that this is a perfect win-win convergence between the two agendas to reduce costs but also to reduce carbon,” she said.
Earlier this month a survey by ACTE-KDS found that six in ten organisations now have a corporate social responsibility charter in place.
