Super Bowl XLII winners celebrate in organic tees

Super Bowl XLIII winners the Pittsburgh Steelers celebrated their victory over the Arizona Cardinals last night in organic cotton t-shirts.
It is the first time sportswear maker Reebok has used organic cotton.
John McMahon, Reebok’s director of marketing, said: “These Championship Tees are produced each year for the Super Bowl and are typically a best-seller.
“By incorporating an eco-friendly element to them, the Reebok brand and the NFL are using the global platform of the Super Bowl to raise awareness about environmentally-conscious opportunities.”
Reebok plans to introduce a line of eco-friendly NFL-licensed products later this year, made of recycled polyester or organic cotton.
The Super Bowl t-shirts are on sale now at retail stories and online at NFLshop.com.
Hopefully they’ll start thinking about even more sustainable options soon - like not changing the design of the jerseys every year. That way, fans won’t have to buy a new shirt at the start of each season.
