Wrap raged of the world unite

In the US, six thousand people a year end up in accident and emergency with packaging related injuries.
The worst culprit is plastic clamshell packaging - the hard, sealed plastic packaging that’s impossible to tear or cut open with scissors.
Injuries are caused both by the jagged edges of semi-opened packaging, and when sharp tools such as knives, scissors, or wire cutters - often grasped in a fit of anger - glance off the impenetrable hard plastic prison.
So prevalent is the frustration at packaging that a new term has been coined for plastic-induced anger: Wrap Rage.
One wrap raged reviewer on Amazon.com writes about the remote controlled Roboreptile toy: “Getting him out of the box was a major pain. Apparently they’re concerned about packs of them escaping and running amok devouring Barbies in the stores at night or something.”
It’s not just the annoyance at opening new toys that makes consumers unhappy: eco-conscious consumers are concerned about the environmental impact too.
In the UK, over 10 million tonnes of packaging waste is thrown away every year, and 59% of it ends up in landfill.
Plastic packaging is often made from PVC - environmentally hazardous from production to disposal.
PVC manufacture spews poisonous cancer-causing gases into the atmosphere, and PVC products normally end up in landfill because it is difficult to recycle.
Wrap raged of the world unite. Be a packaging revolutionary.
Next time you’re out shopping, calmly and politely share your wrath with the retailers.
Shun plastic bags, and leave unnecessary packaging at the till counter.
