Wind-farm firm investing in community

Airtricity, a wind-power firm based in Ireland, is inviting local groups to apply for funding from the Tappaghan Wind Farm Community Fund 2008.
Airtricity has a total of 14 wind farms operating in the Republic of Ireland, supplying eco-friendly electricity to over 38,000 business customers. It was purchased earlier this year by Scottish and Southern Energy.
The Tappaghan Wind Farm Community Fund totals £13,000, and is open to applications from all community-based projects within 10 kilometres of the Tappaghan wind farm. The application deadline is 11th April.
Most likely to benefit from the fund are projects that offer environmentally themed social, economic or educational programmes.
The Great Place to Work Institute last year named Airtricity the best Ireland-based firm to work for.
